International Oil Market: Brent Crude Oil (BRN)

October 15, 2010

Following an address by Chairman of the US Federal Reserve Ben Bernanke, who failed to give the markets a clear indication of the course the Reserve will adopt in the coming future, traders decided to close long positions in almost all markets going into the weekend. In one example, Brent contracts lost almost 250 points in just over six hours.

If you had opened a position on this one Brent contract, selling at 84.23 and buying at 82.18, you could have gained 205 points in six hours.

With a trading volume of 500 (you can do this with just $2,000 in your account; in the ActTrader™ terminal the minimum lot for a Brent Crude Oil (BRN) contract is 100), you could have earned $1,025 in those six hours.

Summary

Trading in just one CFD* contract, you could have earned $1,025 in just one transaction over one day.
